Henrik Meilby, born September 20, 1963. During the last 10 years much of his research has been done in relation to collaboration projects with universities in Nepal, Tanzania and Bolivia. This will continue in the coming years. Most of the work has dealt with the interaction between rural communities and their local environment and emphasised issues related to monitoring and measurement of forest resources (Nepal, Tanzania and Bolivia), sustainability of local forest management, and socio-economic household surveys (Nepal and Tanzania). His research activities also include the impact of management on forest dynamics.
He is now gradually including in activities related to Arctic livelihoods and environments (Greenland). He teaches sampling and modelling and its application within forest and nature management planning. He is occasionally involved in public consultancy work for the Danish Nature Agency.
