Seminar: The Entrepreneurial University

During this seminar, Lene Foss will build on her book The Entrepreneurial University: Context and Institutional Change (2015, Routledge) by briefly describing its theoretical perspective, methods, findings and managerial takeaway.
This will be the basis for a discussion about how this research can be followed up more designated research questions for exploring how institutional conditions affect third mission activities as well as exploring practical tools for universities to increase their third mission engagement.

About the speaker

Lene Foss is Professor in entrepreneurship and innovation at School of Business and Economics, UiT, The Arctic University of Norway. She is programme director of Master of Science in Business Creation and Entrepreneurship. Her research concentrates on academic entrepreneurship, universities as entrepreneurial institutions, research on responsible innovation and the role of gender in entrepreneurship and innovation. She is editorial consultant and board member of International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship, has been associate editor of Journal of Small Business Management and serves now at its International Research Board. Foss has been academic visitor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, Judge Business School, Cambridge and Säid Business School, Oxford, UK.
