Behavioral Economics Seminar: Investigating risk preferences and WTP for flood risk reduction – survey development

Open seminar with Marie Lautrup and Lasse Læbo Matthiesen, IFRO

Abstract
We are developing a survey asking people about their willingness to pay for a reduction in risk of flooding from storm water and cloud bursts. Further we would like to address the questions: Can we detect a difference in risk behavior between people living in flood risk areas and people not in risk of flooding using a lottery experiment (Holt and Laury, 2002)? Is there any difference in general stress level measured by a self-administer
ed stress test? Is there a difference in self-perceived stress level? We would like to get some feedback on our study design from good colleagues.
