The IEM group conducts research on entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in a range of contexts.

  • We mainly focus on the challenges that entrepreneurs face during their start-up and early growth stage.
  • Our research also addresses aspects related to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, in particular business support systems promoting entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises in the context of agriculture and food sectors.
  • Our research also covers elements of entrepreneurship education in higher education institutions in both developed and developing countries. IEM members seek to explore the preconditions for promoting entrepreneurship at the individual as well as organizational level and contribute to the development of enhanced support and teaching practices.

More specifically we have focused on entrepreneurial learning, entrepreneurial intentions, entrepreneurial growth, business development services, incubation processes, and incubator management.
