The IEM group conducts research on innovation in both developed and developing country contexts, covering both product and process perspectives:

  • Product perspective
Within the product perspective, we focus on technological innovation patterns, intellectual property right, and innovation management.
  • Process perspective
Within the process perspective, we mainly focus on innovation systems in agricultural and agribusiness sectors.

Our research explores how individual, organizational and system innovation behaviors are shaped by institutions and learning, and how interactions between individuals/organizations and institutions cause changes in innovation system and society.
More specifically, we focus on institutional innovation and social change, innovation network, individual and organizational learning in technological and institutional innovation processes, knowledge production in transition, and knowledge commercialization.
