PhD defence: Essays in valuation of neighborhood characteristics. Applications of the hedonic pricing method

PhD defence

Cathrine Ulla Jensen

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the valuation of non-marketed spatial goods using the market for housing.  It consists of four papers and contributes to the existing literature on hedonic house price models, social cost of wind turbines, the value of city life and heterogeneity in willingness to pay for green space. This information is important for those who wish to shape our landscapes and cities in ways that make them attractive to live in and nearby.
