Employed as a postdoc fellow at Copenhagen University, Institute of Food and Resource Economics. Currently working with certification schemes and standards in Danish and global food production systems, geographical indications in to add value to African agriculture, teaching in agricultural value chains in developing countries, supervision of MSc and PhD students, and fundraising for new research projects and business partnerships.  I have a PhD degree in natural resource economics, policy and management, also from University of Copenhagen. The dissertation is entitled 'Land use change and payments for environmental services among small scale farmers", and focuses on land use change among coffee farmers, and intermediaries in PES programs. I collaborated with CATIE in Costa Rica, where my field work also took place as well as in Nicaragua. I hold a bachelor in Forestry from Faculty of LIFE, University of Copenhagen, and a master degree in Agricultural Development with a tropical forestry profile. My master thesis dealt with the influence of shade trees on coffee quality and was based on field work carried out in the southern part of Colombia. Since then, just about all issues related to coffee have become part of my interests. Before the PhD, I worked as a research assistant, mainly on three projects: near-urban afforestation and increased house prices and property taxes; a CBA of a Norway Spruce value chain, part of EFORWOOD; and the value of forest genetic diversity in times of climate change, using dynamic, stochastic modelling.
