A new economic report: Danish fisheries after BREXIT

Danish fishery, Economics, BREXIT

A new report from IFRO on the economic importance of the Danish fishery in the exclusive economic zones of the UK, Norway and the Faroe Islands has been published.

A new economic report from IFRO analyses on the economic consequences of a no deal Brexit for the Danish fishery based on data from 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Based on the latest available data, the report describes the current situation for the Danish fishery with focus on the exclusive economic zone of the United Kingdom, thus updating the 2017-report. Furthermore, the current report includes a description of the importance of the Danish fishery in the exclusive economic zones of Norway and the Faroe Islands.

Based on landing and cost information, the economic analysis estimates the effects for the Danish fishery, if Danish vessels cannot operate in what will become UK exclusive economic zone if the United Kingdom leaves the European Union. The analysis also looks at the economic consequences for the Danish fishery, if the access to the exclusive economic zones of Norway and the Faroe Islands is restricted.
