My research lies at the intersection of forests, conservation, and development. I am especially interested in methodologies for capturing the multidimensional and scalar causal mechanisms and outcomes of forest governance interventions, including through mixed methods and geospatial analysis. My PhD research focused on the factors shaping protected area governance interventions and outcomes in a mountainous landscape in Laos and is part of the European Training Network COUPLED. My postdoctoral project is funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark and focuses on interactions between livelihoods and forest transition dynamics in the borderland between northern Laos and Vietnam borderland.
